Interested in taking the next steps in your riding journey with Kern Equestrian Academy? Below are some important details you need to know in order to proceed with searching for your 4 legged partner. Please reach us at Kernequestrianacademy@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
While horse shopping can be extremely exciting and seem to be fairly straightforward, there are many different things to consider before purchasing and bringing a horse into your life. Having Kern Equestrian Academy on your side to help with this process can make things easier as we offer a trainer/team involved service when it comes to evaluating and recommending a horse to a student in our program. The trainer/team will be evaluating the horse on varying efficiencies with the prospective student in mind in order to make the best partnership recommendation.
Once you are ready to purchase, we will begin the search process utilizing our trusted connections based on desired budget and other details. We will only schedule a visit if we believe we have found a potential horse that fits the buyers desired budget and checks a majority of their needs/wants. In order to schedule the official trainer assessment, we require a fee for the trainer’s time/gas/travel of $265 .00 per visit within 150 miles of Bakersfield, Ca. Additional gas reimbursement of 0.60¢ per mile required for locations outside 150 miles.
Congrats! You have found the perfect horse and are now ready to bring him/her back to the barn. First, we recommend all horses pass a Pre - Purchase Exam (PPE). Upon your request we will recommend one of our trusted vets to visit the horse’s location to complete this exam at the buyer’s expense. The cost for this exam varies depending on needs for x-rays or other recommendations. Once the vet has completed the exam and provided an all clear for purchase we will schedule the pickup to bring the horse to Kern Equestrian Academy and begin the standard 10 day quarantine process.
Payment to seller, 10% commission to Nicolas Rossi, plus gas reimbursement for trailering from location to Kern Equestrian Academy must be discussed with Nicolas Rossi prior to pickup. Kern Equestrian Academy has the right to refuse any purchase. Kern Equestrian Academy will not accept any horses into our barn without approval from Nicolas Rossi, Head Trainer/Owner.
